If I quit smoking a pipe, will people still respect my R&S answers?

I think my pipe gives me a dignity and respect that I might lose if I quit the habit. (Yes, my avatar is a real picture of me when I was the father in "our Town".)

Somehow, I think my suspensions would be much closer together without the pipe. Your thoughts?
