JOHNSTOWN — The Somerset Conservation District is inviting the public to tour water improvement projects during its annual Somerset County Watershed Summit on Oct. 25. The summit will consist of a tour of water-quality improvement sites and project locations as well as places where abandoned mine drainage is still prevalent in Cambria and Somerset counties. A bus tour will depart at 1 p.m. from Greenhouse Park along Route 403 near Tire Hill. Speakers will be present at each stop on the tour to explain the significance of the site and answer questions. The tour will conclude and return to Greenhouse Park at 5:30 p.m. The tour is free and open to the public. Following the bus tour, SCRIP will sponsor a Green Drinks event at 6 p.m. at the Crows Nest, 510 Tire Hill Road.
