There are dozens of health apps covering subjects from hay fever to hearing checks
Phone ‘apps’ - short for ‘applications’ - are software programmes that you download from a website via a mobile phone.
There are now dozens of health apps covering subjects from hay fever to hearing checks. they are either free or cost a small amount to download.
The biggest and most comprehensive ‘apps store’ is Apple’s Apps for iPhone, but BlackBerry and Nokia also have dedicated online stores with a wide selection.
You download the app by tapping the app store icon on the home screen of the phone.
If you cannot see a store icon, you need to download it from your browser or find the link from the help section on the phone.
Clicking on the icon should take you straight to the apps store, where you should then select the Health category and type the name of the app into the search.
