Quit Smoking, a Plea to Save Life on Earth
For helping the smokers to successfully quit their habit of smoking, Saskatchewan has introduced two cessation prescription drugs. this plan known by the name of Provincial drug plan will come into effect from Jan. 1, and includes Zyban and Champix as the two products that could be advised by the physicians to the smokers for quitting their deadly habit.
At the same time, these would be made available only on the prescription of doctor.
Along with this, additional smoking cessation counseling and other necessary supports would also be provided by members and other participating sources of Saskatchewan. To make this initiative a successful one, many other strict actions have been also taken into consideration. It has been declared illegal to smoke in the vehicles during presence of children under 16 years of age. other than this use of tobacco on or around school grounds has been also prohibited.
In public buildings and other enclosed areas of multi-unit dwellings, consumption of tobacco is restricted only within a distance of 3 meters of windows, doors and other air intakes.
In addition to this battle against Tobacco consumption, from April 1st, no pharmacies will be allowed to sell tobacco any more. this is one of the most crucial decisions to take place because it has a fantastic contribution in preventing those frequent deaths in Saskatchewan due to lung diseases caused by tobacco intake.
