Quitting smoking using Allan Carr's "Easy way"?

Have you ever heard of Allen Carr's "simple way method to quit smoking"? I was in Barnes and Noble yesterday and saw this book for the first time. I have been smoking for over 10 years and I have tried numerous methods to quit which have all failed, so obviousIy I am a small sceptical. I was only skimming through it while my fiance was looking for a book…I finished up reading the first 30 pages and couldn't stop but I still hadn't gotten to any solution based ideas. I know its only $15 so I am planning on buying it next paycheck (I am on a tight budget) but I wanted to hear from anyone who has quit using this method and what made it so effective? how long did you smoke before you quit and how long have you been smoke free, or an ex-smoker, ect…thanks in advance for your answers.

There is no simple way. if you are looking for an simple way, you don't genuinely want to stop. if you really want to stop, you just stop. It's as simple as that. for me it was the expense plus the nagging dread of a miserable death that inspired me.
The numerous methods you have tried have excluded willpower. you are a free spirit. you can stop, if you really want to. it gets much simpler as the weeks elapse.
